KC Teen Sentenced to Life Terms in Double Killing
KANSAS CITY (AP) - A Kansas City teenager will serve life in prison for the robbery and execution-style killing of two men.
Nineteen-year-old Eria Doss was the last of three men sentenced for the April 2009 killings of 23-year-old Andrew Eli and 24-year-old Justin Budreau at Eli's apartment.
Doss was sentenced Thursday to two consecutive life sentences for two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of robbery and four counts of armed criminal action.
The victims were asleep when the intruders broke in, robbed them and shot them in the back of the head. Budreau, a high school classmate of Eli's, was visiting Kansas City at the time.
Co-defendant Michael Gunn was sentenced in December to 50 years in prison. Larry Marshall is serving a 16-year prison term after pleading guilty.
