Kidnapped woman rescued after being held three days
BLAND – A woman who was allegedly kidnapped against her will for three days has been found, according to Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon.
Two men on the run are accused of holding the woman hostage.
Dixon said an additional armed man was arrested as he was driving the woman to a grocery store.
The men wanted the woman to give them money, so drove her to a store in Belle.
During that time the woman was able to call a friend who then made a call to authorities.
Authorities then caught up to the van they were traveling in and were able to rescue the woman and arrest the armed driver.
Matthew Lackey is one of the men authorities are searching for.
Dixon said Lackey has a violent criminal past and several outstanding warrants.
Court records show Lackey was previously charged for stealing property over $25,000, assault, and documents show he has had 17 overall charges.
Osage County Sheriff's Deputy Matt Peters said the woman was safe and has no injuries.
Peters also said the woman was held near Bland in a Taildragger Trail residence where a SWAT team found surveillance cameras. Sheriff Dixon said the residence looked as if people had fled quickly.
