Labor Workers Protest "Right to Work" at State Capitol
JEFFERSON CITY - A Missouri "Labor Solidarity" rally took place on the steps of state capitol Tuesday, protesting against the right-to-work legislation.
Thousands of workers from across the nation dressed in orange and held protest signs. Protesters said the prevailing wages and project labor agreements would harm all working families, labor unions, as well as the nation's economy.
Governor Jay Nixon, State Treasurer Clint Zweifel and Attorney General Chris Koster--all Democrats--spoke at the rally. They called for all workers, union or non-union, to work together and stick together to educate lawmakers and prevent anti-worker legislations from passing.
