Lady Cougars Hold at No. 24 in NAIA Ranking
COLUMBIA -- For the second week in a row the Columbia College Lady Cougar basketball team hold the No. 24 spot in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Top 25 Poll. Columbia wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 22-8 record overall and 12-2 in conference play, earning them their fourth straight regular season conference crown. Columbia pulled in 79 points this week.
Oklahoma City University remains the top team in the NAIA for the fifth straight week. The Stars have a 27-1 record and all 11 first place votes. Union University is second with a 28-2 record and Freed-Hardeman is third with 263 points. Lubbock Christian and Westmont round out the top five.
Columbia's AMC foe William Woods University sits just outside the poll at No. 27.The Lady Cougars are the top seed in the AMC postseason tournament and will host eighth seeded Stephens College on Wednesday, February 29th in the quarterfinals. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Arena of Southwell Complex.
