Lady Viking Softball Travels To Central Methodist Saturday
MARSHALL, MO -- The Missouri Valley College softball team took on Central Methodist University on Saturday in a conference double-header. Central Methodist sits atop the conference standings and proved their dominance defeating the Lady Vikings in game one 8-0 and game two 9-0.
In game one the Lady Vikings produced three hits in the game, but could not come up with any runs. From the plate Junior Hannah Garczynski, Junior Center Fielder Allison Kuchan, and Junior Second Baseman Kayla Mochizuki all went 1 for 2 in the game. Senior Kim Lopez pitched four complete innings in the game for MVC.
In game two the Lady Vikings found themselves in a hole early being down 4-0 after two complete innings. The Lady Vikings batters had much of the same struggles for only producing three hits in the contest. Junior Ashley Cobern pitched five complete innings for MVC.
The Lady Vikings move to 10-14 overall and 4-8 in the HAAC, while Central Methodist improves to 23-10 overall and 11-1 in conference. The Lady Vikings will be in action again tomorrow when they host Graceland University in another conference double-header on the weekend. Game times are set for 1pm and 3pm.
