Lemone Extension Passes

Curry said traffic adds about fifteen minutes to her daily commute. The city council is looking at a plan that could cut back on Curry's travel time.

The project would provide two entrances to Lemone which would cut down on traffic at the intersection of Lemone and New Haven, or AC.

The city estimates that it would cost about $9 million to extend Lemone, but two businesses in the area have offered to help with the costs. Little Dixie Construction, and developers Stadium 63 Properties would donate close to $2 million each.

Members of a road project group called TARRIF feel the city's money would be better spent on other traffic improvements.

"We're doing it too quickly. Stadium Boulevard is not going to be extended until we don't know when, so it's going to be a road basically to nowhere. And there are so many other areas of town that need road infrastructure desperately more than this place does," TARRIF member Deanna Walkenbach.

The city council voted 6-1 in favor of the Lemone Boulevard extension.
