Lincoln's Faedion Royes Named MIAA Athlete of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After turning in two of the MIAA's quickest times, Lincoln junior Faedion Royes was named the MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week. The league office announced the honor, which was voted upon by a select panel of conference sports information directors, on Monday afternoon.
Competing at the Kansas Relays Royes turned in an excellent performace. The Lincoln 4x400 relay team posted a time of 3:12.55, good for best in the meet and ninth in Division II. Royes was also the runner-up in the 400m with a time of 47.15, the fastest mark in the MIAA.
This is the first time Royes has been honored by the MIAA. It is the second award to a Lincoln runner this season as Stephen Rose was recognized on April 10.
THe Lincoln track and field team continues its 2017 campaign at the Drake Relays this week, hosted in Des Moines, Iowa from April 27-29.
