Local Church Leaves Some Vistors in Awe
"They're inclinedto walk in the door and immediately they go [and look] and if theyhaven't been here before they'll almost always go... 'Wow,'" saidLammers.
He started hearing those awe struck sounds about four years ago whenthe church underwent a six month renovation to restore it to itsoriginal form. One part of the church stood out to Lammers even before the renovations.
"Gothic architecture. The wonderful gothic architecture with high columns and column caps," he said.
But church member Richard Nagel says no matter how special the church may look, there's something more important.
"Well,a church building without members that aren't following Christ is justa building. You've got to have the people here who are coming here forthe right reason," explained Nagel.
AndNagel says the people at St. Peter is his favorite part. The churchoccasionally gives tours to groups. You can call st. Peter church at(573) 636-8159 to schedule one.
