Local Veterans Offer Input for New ICU
COLUMBIA - The Truman VA Hospital hosted an open house Thursday for the design of its new intensive care unit. This is the hospital's second open house to get feedback from veterans and stakeholders about the new ICU. The current budget to get the ICU built is $8.4 million.
The current ICU for the VA hospital was completed in 1972 and has not had any major renovations. Some of the new unit's features include a larger family section near the patients, bathrooms on the same floor, natural lighting, new beds and a 9 foot by 12 foot elevator.
