Luke Bryan tour brings a $2,000 donation for The Food Bank
CENTRALIA – The presenting sponsor for Luke Bryan's Oct. 7 concert, Bayer, is donating $2,000 to The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri.
This donation is part of Bayer’s “Here’s to the farmer” campaign. Bayer is celebrating America’s farming community in combination with trying to bring awareness to America’s hungry.
At every stop along the tour, Bayer has donated to that town’s local food bank.
The Food Bank’s Executive Director, Lindsay Lopez, said she’s beyond grateful for what this campaign is doing for Mid-Missouri.
“When you have a superstar country artist like Luke Bryan, an incredible corporation like Bayer, who believe in this cause, they have the ability to spread awareness more than we can on our own,” Lopez said.
Lopez said for every dollar donated, she is then able to buy $21 worth of groceries.
Bayer Event Communications Manager, Joe Hathaway, said Bayer enjoys being able to donate to specific food banks along the Farm Tour.
“When we work with the local food banks in these markets and we see the look on their faces and understand just how much a dollar here and there can do to help feed hungry families,” Hathaway said, “it’s beyond words and to have that local impact is huge.”
The campaign doesn’t stop with one check: it continues the rest of the harvest season on social media.
Every time someone shares on any social media #HerestotheFarmer, Bayer will donate one meal to a family in need.
