Man, 22, Dies in Southeast Mo. House Fire
BERNIE, Mo. - The cause of a fatal house fire in southeast Missouri remains under investigation.
KFVS-TV reports that 22-year-old Joshua Sandusky died in the fire that broke out early Sunday near Bernie.
Fire officials say two mobile homes had been joined together to form one structure, which was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived shortly after 6 a.m.
A woman in the home got out safely and tried to go back in to rescue Sandusky, but the smoke was too thick.
