Man accused of sending painkiller to jail inmate
WARRENTON (AP) - Authorities said a St. Louis-area man wrote his own name and address on an envelope he used to send a painkiller to a jailed inmate.
KMOV-TV reported that Warren County prosecutors charged 58-year-old Kenneth Dufrenne of St. Charles with felony drug distribution.
Investigators said in a probable-cause statement included in court records that Dufrenne alleged put six squared strips underneath three stamps on an envelope last November.
Authorities allegedly had the strips tested and found them to contain a controlled painkiller.
Online court records didn't show whether Dufrenne had an attorney.
