FULTON - A man was arrested after allegedly attacking two people Thursday night.

The Fulton Police Department first responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of W. Ninth Street.

Brandon D. Byrd, 32, allegedly threw a firework at a female victim, hitting her in the chest.  Byrd left before police arrived; the victim said she wasn't hurt.

Just over an hour later, officers responded to a second assault, this one in the 400 Block of W. Fourth Street. In this instance, Byrd allegedly hit a male victim in the face several times.  Byrd again left before police arrived. The victim was bleeding from the head and face but refused medical attention.

Police later found Byrd near Memorial Park. Byrd allegedly tried to run away, but was caught and taken into custody.

Byrd was arrested for two separate charges of assault and resisting arrest and was taken to the Callaway County Jail. Bond is set at $1,500.
