Man arrested after shots fired in Sedalia
SEDALIA - A man is facing multiple charges after shots were fired twice along Grand Avenue Thursday.
Sedalia police were first dispatched to the area of Third Street and Grand for a call of shots fired and arrived to find a bullet had been fired into a residence. While officers were investigating, another shot rang out from the south.
Officers said they hurried to the area of Fourth Street and Grand, spotted a suspicious male and, while ordering him to stop, spotted a gun at his feet.
Officers said the suspect was looking at the gun and refusing to comply, so they took him to the ground.
The man is identified as Esparza Rene, 44. He is charged with first degree burglary, first degree assault, unlawful use of weapon, armed criminal action, unlawful procession of concealable weapon, receiving stolen property and resist with arrest for a felony.
He was being held at Pettis County Jail.
