Man Arrested in Connection with Break Time Shooting
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department released information Friday about a man they arrested in connection with Thursday's shooting at a Columbia Break Time. Police arrested Alfonso Fagala on charges on hindering prosecution. Police said he transported an alleged shooter and victim to the hospital in a gold SUV.
At 5:30 p.m., Columbia police responded to reports of a shooting at Break Time at 4 Business Loop 70 West. Officers said they watched the store's surveillance video and saw Alfonso Fagala arrive, driving a gold SUV. They said they also saw the apparent victim of a shooting get in a physical fight in the parking lot with another man. Then, police said the victim was loaded into the SUV and the suspected shooter got into the car with Fagala, too.
Officers said Fagala took the apparent victim to University Hospital in the gold SUV. Police said they found Fagala at the hospital with the alleged victim, but the suspected shooter was no longer with them. Fagala's bond is $4,500.
