Man Arrested in Downtown Columbia After Scuffle With Police
COLUMBIA - Officers arrested Seth Dunkerson on Wednesday night after he threatened to cut people with a knife and scuffled with police.
Police were dispatched at 11:21 p.m. about an individual with a knife near Shakespeare's pizza according to an email from Columbia Public Information Officer Stepanie Drouin.
The victims were walking in front of the Blue Note where Dunkerson was playing bongo drums on the sidewalk. Dunkerson asked the victims for 25 cents. The individuals began arguing with Dunkerson when he threatened to pull a knife and "cut them".
Dunkerson followed the victims to Shakespeare's Pizza where officers came into contact with him. He attempted to flee while officers were talking with him. He scuffled with police before being taken into custody.
Officers found a knife on him and a substance that tested positive for cocaine in his backpack. Dunkerson also had a scale and pipe in his possession.
He was arrested for resisting arrest ($4,500 bond), two counts of second degree assault ($9,000), unlawful use of a weapon ($4,500), possession of drug paraphernalia ($500), and distribution of a controlled substance (TBA).
None of the officers were injured during the scuffle.
