Man Charged in Drug Deal Gone Wrong
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 35-year-old St. Louis man has been charged with murder in a stabbing death police say involved a drug deal gone bad.
City prosecutors on Saturday charged Ben Matao Jones II with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the May 19 death of 31-year-Senadin Fazlic in the Bevo Mill neighborhood.
Court documents indicate that Fazlic and a friend had attempted to buy heroin from Jones. Police say Fazlic was stabbed in the chest after he first punched Jones in the head. Fazlic reportedly became upset when Jones dropped a bag of heroin while the two sat together in a car.
Jones remains in custody without bail. Online court records don't list an attorney on his behalf.
