Man charged in shooting at man holding baby
BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS (AP) — A Bellefontaine Neighbors man accused of shooting at a man holding a 7-week-old baby has been charged.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Titos Coffie was charged Monday with several counts, including first-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities say Coffie was at his home with the mother of his children, her boyfriend and five children. According to police, the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the two adults, a 15-year-old and the newborn baby before firing one shot toward the man. Police say the baby fell to the ground, the man tackled Coffie and the gun fell to the floor. Authorities say the 15-year-old retrieved the gun and got the rest of the children out of the house.
It wasn't immediately clear if Coffie has an attorney.
