Man Charged in Springfield Stabbing Death
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A Springfield man has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.
Prosecutors on Monday charged 56-year-old Clarence L. Smith in the death of 39-year-old Terry Brake. He also faces assault and armed criminal action charges.
According to court documents, Smith killed Brake and injured two women Sunday after his ex-girlfriend told him she was in a relationship with Brake.
The court documents say Smith told police he "snapped" and didn't remember many details of the stabbings.
Online court documents do not indicate if Smith has a lawyer.
