Man charged with fatal shooting in southwest Missouri
SPRINGFIELD (AP) — Authorities say a man has been charged with fatally shooting his girlfriend in southwest Missouri.
Thirty-seven-year-old Carlton A. Wallace was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 26-year-old Lindsay Arnold in Fair Grove. The Springfield News-Leader reports that he is jailed in Greene County on $500,000 bond. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
The probable cause statement says Wallace's mother called 911 a little before 1 p.m. Monday to report that Wallace had hurt someone and then fled in her car. Deputies found Arnold dead under a blanket with red foam around her mouth and a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
Wallace was arrested later that afternoon at a grocery store in Springfield.
