Man Gets 25 Years in Kansas City Man's Death
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A 20-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a central Kansas City business owner.
Anthony C. Britton was sentenced Monday for second-degree murder and other charges in the May 2011 shooting death of 50-year-old David Bledsoe at Bledsoe's Rental.
A second defendant, Andre M. Broadus, was convicted in Bledsoe's death last week and will be sentenced next month.
The two men were attempting to rob the business when they shot Bledsoe, who was able to chase them a short way before he collapsed.
The Kansas City Star reports Britton's grandfather, George Britton, who drove the getaway car, is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.
