Man gets 27 years in burglary, child sex assault case
LAKE ST. LOUIS (AP) - A judge has sentenced a Lake St. Louis man to 27 years in prison following his conviction of burglary and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported a jury found Matthew R. Burnett guilty of breaking into a home near Wentzville in December 2012.
Police said he held down the young girl while he was there and touched her inappropriately.
Circuit Judge Jon Cunningham sentenced Matthew R. Burnett to prison Monday.
