Man Hospitalized After SUV Jumps Guardrail and Lands in Water
OSAGE BEACH - One man is in critical condition after his SUV jumped the guard rail and landed in water near the end of the east bound side of the Grand Glaize Bridge Sunday morning.
Osage Beach officers said around 4:41 a.m. they responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident and found 23-year-old Adam J. Marquart from Springfield lying unresponsive along the bank of the Lake of the Ozarks. His SUV was mostly submerged, except for the rear of the vehicle.
Officers said they checked the submerged vehicle for additional occupants, but no one else was found.
Officers said the victim was transported by fireboat to an ambulance that took him to Lake Regional Hospital. From there, he was flown to the University of Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene to determine what caused the accident.
Police said new information will be released as they receive it.
