Man sentenced for role in downtown Columbia robbery
COLUMBIA - A judge sentenced a man to seven years in prison for his role in a robbery in April.
Police arrested Jack David after he and another person robbed a teenager at gunpoint. The men apparently forced the 17-year-old to drive to a bank and ordered him to remove all his money from his account.
They then made him drive to another location, where the teenager was able to get out of the car. David and the other suspect stole the car, which police later found with damage caused by a fire.
David pleaded guilty to two robbery charges and one knowingly burning or exploding charge. He got a seven-year sentence for each robbery charge and four years for the burning charge, all to be served concurrently.
The other suspect has not been identified.
