Man Sentenced to 15 Years For Wrong-Way Crash
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years for a drunken driving crash that killed a Belton woman and her 11-year-old daughter.
The Kansas City Star reported that Felix Solano-Gallardo was sentenced Friday.
He admitted in January he was driving the wrong way on Interstate 435 on July 4 when he crashed into a car carrying 44-year-old Diane Bronson and her daughter Anna.
Police say they think Solano-Gallardo had been driving the wrong way for at least 14 miles, and that he earlier ran a driver off Interstate 70 into a concrete median.
At least nine motorists called 911 that morning to report a wrong-way driver on the two interstate highways.
Solano-Gallardo also admitted that his blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit that day.
