Man sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for meth possession
KANSAS CITY - A federal judge sentenced a Jefferson City man to more than 25 years in federal prison for having methamphetamine in his possession.
Grandview police found meth in the trunk of Michael Green's car after it stalled at an intersection. Officers decided to tow the car and conducted an inventory search before the towing. It was during this search of the car that officers found a shoebox with 400 grams of meth.
On Aug. 23, 2017, the date his trial was to begin, Green pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. He was was sentenced as a career offender because of his prior criminal history.
