Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A Springfield man was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing his roommate.
Forty-three-year-old Jeffrey Wooderson was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to first-degree murder.
Wooderson beat 57-year-old Gary Russell to death with a golf club in March 2010 while Russell was sleeping. Wooderson was arrested in Arkansas after a police chase that began in Branson.
Police say in court records that Wooderson told them he snapped after arguing with Russell about money.
KY3-TV reports that Wooderson's pleaded guilty a week before his scheduled trial.
