BEL-RIDGE, Mo. (AP) -- A man who managed to escape from the back of a suburban St. Louis police car is back in custody.
KMOV-TV (http://bit.ly/qV9bsf ) reports that authorities in Bel-Ridge stopped a driver for a traffic stop Thursday night, then noticed he had three felony warrants related to a shooting. The man was arrested, handcuffed and placed in a police car.
But despite the handcuffs, he was able to get out and run away.
Officers later spotted the suspect running down a street and trying to break into a home, and arrested him.
Police are trying to determine how the suspect was able to escape.
