Manhattan terror suspect has possible Missouri connection
PLATTE COUNTY - The suspect in the deadly truck attack in New York has a possible connection to Missouri.
NBC News identified the suspect as 29-year-old Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov. He was cited for a traffic violation in Platte County on Dec. 16, 2015, KSHB reported.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued him a ticket for not having proper brakes on his vehicle at a weigh station off Interstate 29, KSHB said.
Court records said Saipov failed to appear in court. Authorities had a warrant and arrested Saipov. He later posted $200 bond, according to KSHB.
Eight people were killed and a dozen more were injured when a man, identified by some sources as Saipov, drove a rented truck onto a bike path.
