Marshall Murder Suspects Arrested in Ohio
"I was shocked and sad that it happened again," said resident Johnna Phythian. "It made a bunch of us worried that Marshall was going to go back to how it was in the 80s with all of the murders and everything."
Ford's neighbor, Bob Falls, added, "It's something you don't get used to, especially when it's someone you know."
Detective Sgt. Brad Bartlett said, "Its a feeling of disappointment and sadness that it has affected so many people in such a short period of time"
Marshall police said Joshua Walden admitted killing Ford and taking guns from the victim's home.
Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Donald Stouffer has charged the 22-year-old Walden with murder and theft. He's in the Saline County Jail and has a Nov. 1 court date. Joshua's father, Richard Walden, is still in custody in Ohio, waiting for Marshall authorities to bring him back to Missouri.
