Marshfield Firefighter Critically Injured in Blaze

NIAGUA, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri firefighter is hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining severe burns.

A Springfield Fire Department spokesman says the firefighter with the Marshfield Fire Department was one of three who was injured Saturday night battling a blaze in Niagua. A second Marshfield firefighter was treated and released from an emergency room, while a third from Niagua was admitted to a hospital for observation.

No names have been released.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
