The state severed its contract about two months ago with Medical Transportation Management to provide Medicaid patients with non-emergency rides to doctor's visits.
Instead, the state awarded the contract to Atlanta-Based LogistiCare. But MTM claimed the state still owed it money for its final month of service. The settlement will pay $5.8 million to MTM. Most of that money will be passed on to subcontractors who provided the actual rides. The rest may be applied against a $2.4 million payment that MTM owes the state as part of a separate settlement reached in September.
