Meeting Deadlines Despite the Heat
Most residents had to be completely moved out of their homes this weekend despite the 3-digit heat index. Students like Chris Vogel said one day of the heat is enough and plans on moving only once.
"We started at 8 a.m. just getting up early and start all day pretty much. The heat's killing us," he said.
Parents like Lou Magdits traveled to Columbia to help make the move easier on his sons, but the heat didn't make it any easier on him.
"It's breathtaking. I mean it's the kind of heat that even standing in the shade or a vehicle, it's very oppressive. And it'll zap somebody that's almost fifty years old," remarked Magdits.
