Mexican National Killed in Vehicle Dispute
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) -- Authorities in central Missouri are searching for two suspects after an apparent dispute over a loud muffler on a pickup truck led to a fatal shooting.
The Cole County sheriff's office said Monday that 26-year-old Francisco Navarro was killed in a mobile home park Sunday night just west of Jefferson City. Sheriff Greg White says Navarro was living legally in the U.S. after coming from Mexico.
The sheriff says Navarro was shot by a passenger in a gray four-door sedan after Navarro got out of a pickup truck to intervene in a fight between the drivers of the two vehicles.
The sheriff's office says the car was last seen headed west from the mobile home park. The two suspects are described as Hispanic males in their mid-20s to early 30s.
