Mexico Tree of Lights Returns
MEXICO - The tree of lights is back to Mexico this year for the first time since the AP Green Company closed in 2002. The first tree was constructed during the holiday season of 1969 and continued to brighten up the Mexico holiday season for over thirty years. The lights will be lit on November 28th.
You can buy a light for $5 dollars and all the proceeds will go to the Help Center. Mid-America Brick, Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mexico are in charge of resurrecting the tree.
Mid-America Brick reopened the brick factory that has been abandoned since 2002. CEO, Frank J. Cordie said that he hoped the factory would create 74 permanent jobs for Mid-Missourians.
