Mid-Missouri cruises in on the Capitol

JEFFERSON CITY - Car-lovers cruised into downtown Jefferson City Saturday to check out some eye-candy.

Antique cars lined the streets at July's Cruise-In on Capitol event.

People brought their classic cruisers downtown to talk about car history and share the vehicles with others.

Weston Warren, a regular attendee of the event, said it is a good way to bring surrounding communities together. 

"It's a family event and a lot of people like to take their children and take a look at the cars," Weston said. "It's also a social event to get to know the neighbors. We have people coming from surrounding communities. Rolla, for example, Fulton, Lake of the Ozarks, Columbia." 

The event is free and open to the public.

It will be held once a month in downtown Jefferson City through September.
