Miller County man pleads guilty to child sex crimes
COLUMBIA - A man from Brumley pleaded guilty Tuesday in three separate cases, two of which involved child sex crimes.
According to Miller County Prosecutor Ben Winfrey, Dillon James Hail admitted to two cases of having sexual contact with children, one younger than 14 and the other younger than 17. Court documents said investigators found explicit images of one of the victims on Hail's phone, which he said she had sent to him.
Hail also admitted guilt in a case where he forced his way into a home "for the purpose of committing statutory rape." In this situation, a probable cause statement said Hail went to the victim's home and kept trying to get in to have sex with the girl. He got inside the home at one point, but the victim forced him out before anything could happen.
The pleas were open, which means the prosecution and defendant did not have a complete agreement about the punishment. Hail is scheduled to be sentenced on July 10.
