ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The search for a fisherman who may have fallen into the Mississippi River after a boat crash at St. Louis has been suspended.

KMOV-TV reports a tow boat pushing 15 barges collided with an unoccupied fishing boat about 3 a.m. Friday north of the Chain of Rocks Bridge.

The tow boat's crew found a cellphone, wallet, fishing poles, a cooler and other personal items on the 18-foot fishing boat. Investigators weren't sure if the fisherman was on the boat when the collision happened.

A search by the Coast Guard, the Missouri Water Patrol and Illinois authorities was suspended after several hours.
