Missouri Alum Sheldon Richardson Named NFL's Defensive ROY
Columbia - Former Missouri Tiger defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson has been named the Associated Press NFL defensive rookie of the year.
Over his two years at Missouri, Richardson had 112 tackles including six sacks. His stellar 2012 camapaign helped propel him into the first round of the NFL draft where he was taken by the New York Jets with the 13th overall pick.
Richardson proved deserving of a top-15 pick as he compiled 77 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his first season as a Jet.
