Missouri Attorney General Sues Ray County Dog Breeder
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - State Attorney General Chris Koster has sued a western Missouri dog-breeder on allegations that it has unsanitary conditions.
Koster said Monday that he is seeking a temporary restraining order prohibiting the JJ Kennel in Ray County from conducting any commercial dog breeding activity. The lawsuit says the kennel is run by Jeannine Julian, of Richmond.
No one answered a call Monday made to a phone number listed for Julian.
Online court records show Koster's lawsuit was filed Thursday. The suit says Department of Agriculture inspectors found numerous violations of state law, including dogs living amid excessive feces and in need of veterinary care.
Koster says this is the third case he has brought under a state dog-breeding law that was revised in April.
