Missouri Chamber Wants Stronger Transportation for Business
JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Chamber of Commerce leaders met Thursday at the Capitol Plaza Hotel to discuss funding for better transportation in the state. Chamber leaders said a better transportation system is a common goal, but finding a way to pay for it can be a problem. Those involved in the discussion said the biggest challenge with improving transportation is the economy. The meeting discussed all the different ideas for funding the transportation system.
The MIssouri Department of Transportation gave an overview of what the conditions of the roads are right now, what needs to be done, and what work is already underway. There was also a speaker about Wall Streeet's options for investments on transportation. And another speaker gave Washington's perspective on Missouri transportation ideas.
