Missouri falls to Ole Miss and drops its seventh straight game
COLUMBIA - Missouri has lost seven straight games for the first time since 1993 after the 67-47 defeat at the hands of Ole Miss.
With the loss, Missouri falls to 1-7 in the SEC and 7-14 on the season.
Five-star football recruit Terry Beckner Jr. made his official visit to Missouri today and was in the crowd during the game.
The Tigers struggled on the glass as they were outrebounded for the sixth time against an SEC opponent this season.
Missouri also struggled on the offensive end, shooting just 30.2 percent. The Tigers went 6 for 26 from beyond the three-point line and shot just 30 percent from the foul line.
Despite a rough shooting day for the Tigers, Jonathan Williams III led the Tigers in scoring with 11. And coming off a 19-point performance against Kentucky, Wes Clark finished with eight points and four rebounds.
Missouri kept the game close early on.Clark led the way with a three point shot and Montaque Gil-Caesar added a jumper to give Missouri a 15-14 lead with 11:24 remaining in the first half.
But the game opened up after the Rebels went on a 16-3 run. Stefan Moody led the way with 23 points and five rebounds.
Despite seven second half points by Williams III, Moody and the Rebels controlled the remainder of the game to hand Missouri its seventh SEC loss of the season.
The Tigers will continue their SEC schedule on the road against Alabama on Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. CT.
