Missouri house foreclosures increase
COLUMBIA - Missouri saw an increase in foreclosures between September and October, according to a report.
RealTrac.com reported that home closures increased 181% from the September numbers. The reason for this spike in number may be the backlog of incomplete requests for bankers. Similarly, foreclosures can take a lot of time for courts to approve.
Realtor Steve Miller told KOMU 8 News that he was aware of the statewide increase in foreclosures, but was not sure whether Boone County was following the trend. Julie Wilford Gold said she did not have knowledge of the spike in foreclosures.
KOMU reached out to local realtors, who said they thought the number of foreclosures was decreasing in Columbia.
