Missouri judge dismisses second Knockerball lawsuit
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) — An Ashland man who was awarded last year nearly $45 million for injuries at a Capital Mall business that left him a quadriplegic has had a separate lawsuit dismissed.
Court documents say 26-year-old Derek Hart was injured while playing at Knockerball Mid-MO on Dec. 23, 2016. He suffered a fracture and spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed.
The News-Tribune reports Knockerball allows players to participate in a high-contact game cushioned by the inflatable plastic bubble surrounding them.
Judge Jon Beetem found Knockerball failed to respond to the first lawsuit.
