Missouri Men's Basketball drops 11th straight with loss to Mississippi St.
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Missouri Tigers Men's Basketball team dropped its 30th straight road game, and 11th straight overall with an 89-74 loss to the Mississippi St. Bulldogs Wednesday night.
The Tigers led at the half, but lost the second half by 19 points after the Bulldogs hit eight second half three-pointers. Sophomore guard Jordan Geist tied his season high in points and co-led the team with 18. Junior forward Jordan Barnett was the other Tiger to score 18, while also contributing eight rebounds.
Miss. St. guard Quinndary Weatherspoon scored a career high 29 points on 11-17 shooting. He also added in eight rebounds and four assists to lead the Bulldogs in all three categories. Miss. St. shot over 52 percent from beyond the three-point arc on the night, which was better than their percentage from the free throw line. The Tigers made only one-third of their attempts from three, but made 74 percent of their free throw attempts, which has plagued the Tigers throughout the season.
Missouri is now 0-7 in SEC play this season, with their next two match ups coming against ranked opponents in a home match up vs. South Carolina, and then a trip to Gainesville and the O'Connell center to take on the Florida Gators.
