Missouri National Guard Assists with Sugar Tree Levee
WAVERLY - The 311th Brigade Support Battalion and 35th Combat Aviation Brigade of the National Guard and Carroll County community members worked to reinforce the Sugar Tree levee near Waverly Friday.
They added 1500 pound sandbags to strengthen the levee against flooding. Blackhawk helicopters transported the sandbags to the levee.
Local residents filled the sandbags before the Missouri National Guard transported them to the weakened levee.
This is the seventh flood response since 2007 and the second flood mission the Missouri National Guard has confronted this year.
