Missouri Schools Show Off Technology Skills
JEFFERSON CITY - Ten schools gathered Wednesday at in the state capitol's third floor rotunda to show off their student's technology skills. The state department of elementary and secondary education, along with state internet provider MOREnet and SuccessLink, hosted what the groups called Show-Me TechKnowledge Day. Each school had a group of students as representatives who demonstrated how their school incorporates technology in its classrooms.
Showcases ranged from Photoshop pictures, Powerpoint slides, movies, websites, band software that grades children's performances, Mobi writing pads, Classroom Performance System clickers, and interactive telecommunication classrooms. Randy Raw, MOREnet's marketing manager, said the goal was to show lawmakers how their investments in schools help students learn.
