Missouri Senate Bill aims to improve in-home patient care
JEFFERSON CITY - One state lawmaker is proposing a bill aimed at making in-home patient care more equal.
Senate Bill 441 will receive its first hearing Tuesday morning.
The bill's sponsor said the goal of the bill is to provide equal time spent on Medicaid patients in Missouri.
“Anyone who has a relative, a friend, who is utilizing our consumer-directed services model through the Medicaid office will see consistency, which is what I think everyone wants to see", Republican Sen. Lincoln Hough said.
Hough said he wants to make sure patients are getting the type and quality of care that these programs should assure.
The bill would change how patients are assessed to decide how much time the patient needs in-home care.
"As big as these programs are, there are always ways to improve", Hough said.
