Missouri sheriff expects no charges in rural shooting
AVA (AP) — Authorities in south-central Missouri's Douglas County say a man who shot and wounded his son apparently acted in self-defense and isn't expected to face charges.
Sheriff Chris Degase says charges are expected against the 34-year-old son for allegedly attacking his mother moments before the father shot him Sunday in a rural home.
The wounded son was taken to a hospital, though his medical status was not immediately clear Wednesday.
Degase says deputies had been called to the home several times before for domestic disturbances caused by the son.
