Missouri State searching for man exposing himself on campus
SPRINGFIELD (AP) - Missouri State University officials were still on the lookout for a man Monday morning they said exposed himself several times on the campus.
The university has received seven reports since early February of a man wearing only a ski mask entering the female floors of the Hammons House dormitory. Springfield police spokeswoman Lisa Cox said police believe the incidents are related.
The Springfield News-Leader reported the suspect was a white male with a thin to average build, between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10 inches.
Police said in one case, the victim claimed the man entered her room and began removing her clothes as she slept. He also has reportedly run through a study room and at one point eluded officers who were chasing him.
The university was running an awareness campaign urging female residents to lock their doors.
